The Fixed Assets module can operate as a standalone system or it can be
integrated with the Transaction Base to provide for the transfer of monthly
depreciation figures to the General Ledger. Depreciation is calculated once a
month for both book and tax and all pertinent fields in the master file are
adjusted automatically. The YTD Fields are cleared automatically at the
beginning of the calendar year or fiscal year. The file maintenance program
will allow you to build your master file with just the most basic information
required for each asset, then come back later and fill in the gaps. Standard
features include: multicompany; calendar or fiscal year; add, change, delete
and inquiry routines for equipment master file; asset classification number;
asset number; asset improvement number allowing you to add capital improvements
to an asset but depreciate it separately; 25-character asset description,
20-character asset identifier; and more. Reports include file maintenance,
asset listing, location list, assets acquired/disposed/sold/fully depreciated,
combined/current/YTD/ LTD depreciation schedule for book and tax, G/L
depreciation summary.
